Shipping and Receiving Lead Hand

Support the Warehouse Supervisor. Maintain inventory control records and related reports. Serve as a lead for various warehouse functions. Train and provide direction to assigned staff. Work from Monday to Friday. 1pm to 9:30pm with the flexibility to work occasional weekends.  This is a permanent opportunity in Vaughn.


  • Oversee the shipping, receiving, storing and issuing of ingredients, materials, WIPs, and finished products
  • Assure ingredients, materials and WIPs are delivered in a timely manner
  • Participate in the receiving, unloading and inspection of shipments for damage, ensure purchase orders match specifications and packing slips, work with vendors damaged goods, shortages or other discrepancies
  • Complete receiving, discrepancy and follow-up reports.
  • Participates in the stocking of products, plan storage locations, determine proper location of materials to allow for maximum space utilization
  • Serve as a lead over an assigned warehouse function, train, provide leadership, work direction and guidance to assigned staff
  • Fill, prioritize and process requisitions.  Ship products according to established procedures; drive a truck to deliver materials and product as required
  • Monitor stock levels, notify the materials group to reorder items in accordance with guidelines, complete inventory control cards, input date and quantity, share this information with the product group
  • Prepare, maintain and submit a variety of reports and records related to warehouse operations; complete paperwork and input data into Mysis as required
  • Oversee the performance of periodic and annual inventory, conduct regular cycle counts of materials and product as required
  • Monitor that the warehouse is in a clean, orderly, safe and secure condition
  • Ensure that the temperature conditions in storage areas meet their requirements
  • Makes recommendations regarding proper storage, inventory and warehousing procedures and improvements in warehouse efficiency
  • Back up the Warehouse Supervisor as required in their absence
  • Enforce the quality management program (HACCP) and GMP rules to ensure the quality and safety of products manufactured and shipped
  • Enforce health and safety in the workplace and that the team adheres to the Company’s  Health & Safety program
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management

Job Requirements


  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a similar position; experience in the food industry preferred
  • Valid forklift license. Experience on reach trucks is an asset
  • Proven teamwork abilities
